approximately 150 commemorative kippot (yarmulkes) collected from the community, wood, wire fencing, fishing line

this piece serves as evidence of Jewish joy and celebration. each individual kippah (traditionally worn by Jewish men during prayer) was originally a souvenir from a wedding or bar/bat mitzvah, inscribed with names and dates of those who were celebrating and being celebrated. the act of bringing together these signifiers of Jewish happiness, excitement, and celebration allows these moments of good to occupy space
